Aluminium Smelter

Client: JV between two large aluminium producers

The client was planning to build a new smelter and cast house based on renewable power. Working together, we developed three scenarios for product marketing based on a range of market, technical and strategic factors.

This was supported by detailed market sizing and segmentation, long-term forecasts for demand, supply, trade flows and prices as well as competitor analysis.

Analysis of raw material markets such as anodes and CPC fed into the decision making about the trade-offs between additional capital costs of vertical integration and exposure to risks such price volatility.
