Larry Lorden

Chief Information Officer

CRU
Larry has been a high-impact technology leader for over 25 years and has been fortunate enough to have worked on multiple best-in-class products at world-class companies, from start-ups to multinationals.  He remains as enthusiastic as ever working in forward-thinking businesses where the right application of bleeding-edge technologies can have a transformative effect for users.

Looking for the combination of technical challenge and business impact, Larry has worked at companies as varied as a microprocessor startup where he designed the entire IDE; Best Buy (Fortune 50), where he led the vision, design and implementation of a market-leading retail-telco platform that helped the mobile business grow more than tenfold in five years; Carphone Warehouse (FTSE 100), where he served as CTO and designed a no-code customer journey platform; and illio, an insight-led fin-tech where he served co-founder and CTO and brought B2B and B2C platforms to market. In every company, the secret to success has been in finding and retaining incredible talent and providing ambitious and exciting goals for them to aim for.

This combination of a world-class business and scope for technology impact led Larry to CRU, where he enjoys leading the teams who bring the world’s best commodity research and data into the hands of users – in the most convenient and consumable ways possible.
